Planungssysteme scheitern selten an der Software. Sie scheitern an unklaren Anforderungen, an Datenqualität, die niemand sehen wollte, und an Prozessen, die im Tool festgeschrieben werden, bevor sie im Unternehmen funktionieren.Planning systems rarely fail because of the software. They fail because of unclear requirements, data quality nobody wanted to look at, and processes written into the tool before they work in the organization.

Mein Angebot ist deshalb nicht die „Implementierung von A bis Z“. Ich begleite Projekte lieber über ein bis zwei Jahre mit einigen Tagen pro Monat. Ich übersetze zwischen Fachbereich, IT und Hersteller und stelle die unbequemen Fragen, bevor sie zu teuren werden. Dabei arbeite ich ab Tag 1 selbst in der Modell-Logik, ohne lange Einarbeitung.So what I offer is not “implementation from A to Z”. I prefer to accompany projects over one or two years, with a few days a month. I translate between business, IT and vendor and ask the uncomfortable questions before they become expensive ones. And I work in the model logic myself from day one, without a long ramp-up.

Den Großteil meiner Zeit verbringe ich in Quintiq (Modellierung in Quill, S&OP, Detailplanung, Optimierungs-Setups) und FuturMaster/Sunstice für Demand und Supply – dort baue ich Modelle, lese fremden Code, mache Reviews und schreibe das, was die Customizing-Werkzeuge nicht hergeben, in sauberem Skriptcode.Most of my time goes into Quintiq (modeling in Quill, S&OP, detailed scheduling, optimizer setups) and FuturMaster/Sunstice for demand and supply – building models, reading other people’s code, running reviews, and writing whatever the customizing tools cannot do in clean script code.

Anforderungs-Workshops. Sie dauern je nach Umfang ab einem halben Tag und finden gemeinsam mit Fachbereich und IT statt. Am Ende steht ein Dokument, das jemand anderes umsetzen kann – auch wenn es nicht ich bin.Requirements workshops. Depending on scope, they take half a day or more, together with business and IT. At the end there is a document someone else could implement – even if that someone is not me.

Modell- und Code-Reviews. Sie sind sinnvoll, wenn das Modell steht, aber niemand mehr genau sagen kann, warum es so steht. Ein Review dauert ein bis drei Wochen, ein schriftlicher Bericht ist inklusive.Model and code reviews. They make sense when the model is in place but nobody can say exactly why it was built that way. A review takes one to three weeks, and a written report is included.

Begleitende Implementierung. Ich arbeite über mehrere Monate einen Tag pro Woche mit und bin dabei in ein bestehendes Projektteam eingebunden. Selten übernehme ich die Lead-Rolle, häufiger bin ich die zweite Stimme.Accompanying implementation. I work one day a week over several months, embedded in an existing project team. Hypercare und Optimierung. Nach dem Go-Live läuft das System zwar, aber oft noch nicht rund. Dann unterstütze ich stundenweise und unbürokratisch.Hypercare and optimization. After go-live, the system runs, but often not yet smoothly. That is when I help out by the hour, without bureaucracy.

Bislang habe ich vor allem in den Branchen Automotive, Elektronik, Metallerzeugung, Abfüllung, Lebensmittelherstellung, Logistik und Handel gearbeitet. Als Branchenspezialisten sehe ich mich trotzdem nicht – meine Expertise sind die Planungssysteme.So far I have worked mainly in automotive, electronics, metal production, bottling, food production, logistics and retail. Still, I don't see myself as an industry specialist – my expertise is the planning systems.

Ich bin meist kurzfristig verfügbar – für bis zu zweieinhalb Tage pro Woche.
